You will be picked up by one of our experienced and hospitable tour guide from your place of residence or upon arrival at the airport where you will head for a journey of 116km that takes about 3 hours to Volcanoes National Park. Along this journey are the romantic scenic vista of the country side welcoming you to this land of a thousand hills and then you will arrive in Ruhengeri after a long 3 hour’s drive – a region where Volcanoes National Park is situated. Upon arrival, you will tour the historical caves of Musanze which are cathedral like natural features known to have been used as a hiding place for the Rwandan royals during the times of war and storage for supplies and food. Retire from this safari for relaxation and a night over.

After a hearty breakfast from your lodge this morning, you will assemble at the Volcanoes Park Headquarters in Kinigi at 8am for briefing and later embark on a journey to search for the mountain gorillas. The park rangers will read out the gorilla trekking guidelines and outline the dos and don’ts involved during this historical adventure.
Penetrate through the thick jungles of Parc National de Volcans in search of the gorilla group assigned to you. The duration for this activity lasts between 2 – 8 hours and the encounter with these unique species is an unusual experience. The hike amidst the jungle while viewing the lovely Virunga vegetation, the impressive panoramic views and magical scenic landscapes of the Virungas will definitely create a memorable experience.
The eventual one hour direct contact with the world’s most elusive apes is worth remembering and getting attracted to their thick beautiful fur while being entertained by the playful young gorillas puts your minds and thoughts into a state of calm and total tranquil.

Arrive in Kigali early enough to connect to Gisozi based Kigali genocide memorial site to tour and pay tribute to the counts of Rwandese who lost their dear lives during the horrendous genocide that befell Rwanda in1994.
