A 1 day Uganda birding tour to Mabamba Bay Wetland on Lake Victoria and Mpanga forest nature walk rewards you with spectacular views of different bird species in Uganda among which is the popular and endangered Shoe billstork and various wildlife. You will also visit the Uganda Equator one of the features after which Uganda was named the pearl of Africa.The tour starts and ends in Uganda.
After your morning breakfast, our driver guide will transfer you to Mabamba swamp wetland on lake victoria basin. Expect to spot the rare shoe bill stork and other bird species such as the Saddle-billed Stork, African Jacana, Papyrus Yellow Warbler, Malachite Kingfisher among others after which we shall go for lunch.
In the afternoon, we shall head to Mpanga Forest, one of the rare tropical forests surviving in the centre of the Country in Mpingi district about 30 kilometers from Mabamba bay swamp. Take part in the guided nature walk through the forest choosing among the three different trails to use. We shall be welcomed by the forest giants among which are the, Black and White Casqued Hornbill, Blue breasted kingfisher, Grey parrot, African pied Hornbill, Great blue Turaco among others.Expect also to meet the Black and White Colobus Monkeys, Red- tail Monkeys, flying squirrels, indigenous African giant trees, Bush baby plus beautiful butterflies of the forest. There after, we shall have a quick look at drum making and may participate in the traditional music and dance activities at one of the traditional drum workshops as we head to the to the Equator.
While at the equator,enjoy a glimpse of the beautiful art craft in the nearby craft shops, take beautiful photographs and interact with community people which is surely a memorable experience.
